We all grew up watching movies and TV shows but I'm more of a movie girl than a TV-series type now. I've seen some really good TV series before that I truly love (both local and foreign movies including animated series) but I prefer to watch movies than TV series/shows as I grew older.
In fact, I used to despise action movies since I was a kid because they were just not my thing, particularly "war movies". My family loves action movies especially my father but I never watched any of the action flicks with them. I can recall some action movies that they ultimately loved & enjoyed like Windtalkers, We Were Soldiers, Black Hawk Down, etc.
Until I got a boyfriend from New Jersey in 2008 who convinced me to try to watch them cuz he kept sending me plenty of movies (DVDs) via Johnny Air Cargo which was the easiest and quickest way to mail packages/parcels from the US. I thought I'd give it a try and surprisingly, I FELL IN LOVE! The first action movies that I tried to watch were THE LONG KISS GOODNIGHT (Starring Geena Davis & Samuel L. Jackson), ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13 (Starring Ethan Hawke & Laurence Fishburne) and THE ROCK (Starring Sean Connery, Nicolas Cage & Ed Harris).
Although I've seen some really good action movies when I was younger like THE MATRIX and THE FIFTH ELEMENT (which is one of my most favorite movies as a kid and seen many times on HBO).
I still have some of the DVDs that my ex-boyfriend sent me but I lost most of my DVD collection and I have no idea who borrowed them (they were never returned them to me). I've actually written a list of all the DVDs that he mailed - it's in one of my old notebooks, hehe! But it doesn't matter now because I can easily find them on any Torrent site and download them if I wanna see them again. Also, CDs, VCDs and DVDs are not a thing nowadays cuz technology has evolved so quickly through the years.
We even had some VHS tapes when I was a kid and a VCR but right now we don't even have a VCD/DVD player anymore. Our old SONY sound system can't even play cassette tapes or any CD/VCD eventually, but my father managed to make use of the speakers that we connect on our new amplifier that he bought recently. My family loves Karaoke so much! I don't, lol! I used to love karaoke but I started to hate it when my voice changed at age 14. I used to sing a lot back in the days. I was even nominated singer of the year at my grade school. Used to sing on Parent-Teacher Meetings, special school programs and I was a school choir member.
Anyway, here are the BEST ACTION MOVIES I'VE SEEN and LOVED SO MUCH including sci-fis, fantasies and war. I'm not much of a sci-fi fanatic (Star Wars or Star Trek) and I apologize that the John Wick series is not on my list. I've seen them all but they're just not my top favorites, hehe...
