Not all of us are into drama films or heavy dramas but I've seen a lot of them. And I love to watch movies that are totally heart-wrenching, powerfully sentimental and emotionally intense. I've seen drama films that were really good but they're not the type that I would watch the second time around or repeatedly.
There are other big-production movies that I haven't seen yet and movies that I'm just NOT keen or interested in checking out like Lady Gaga's A Star Is Born or Beyonce's Dreamgirls (I AM JUST NOT A FAN OF THESE WOMEN, lol!) but I prefer underrated gems, although some movies on my list have made it into the Academy Awards.
I'm a Filipino and I've seen a lot of brilliant local films, mostly older ones (because the recent ones are just too Pabebe or too dull and uninspiring) but this list is the BEST DRAMA FILMS I've seen in English language only.

| I've seen this movie many times and it never failed to make me cry. A Walk To Remember is like the mother of all movies about someone dying from cancer and spawned several other movies in recent years that have a similar plot like The Fault In Our Stars, Keith, etc. I know there are other movies that came out way before A WALK TO REMEMBER but this movie is simply the best in my opinion. |

This is the kind of movie that seems like a horror-fantasy in the first half but it's quite depressing in the end and very true-to-life. Not gonna spoil u with the plot but I just freakin' love this movie!

This movie was quite hard to watch because of the beating, lashing and all that blood but it's a very good drama and is visually stunning at the same time. Jim Caviezel portrayed as Jesus Christ perfectly. |
This one is another masterpiece by Nicholas Sparks. I've seen it many times and Rachel McAdams truly shines in this movie along with Ryan Gosling.

When I saw this movie poster before, I thought it was like a typical Drew-Barrymore romantic comedy. I love Drew and Toni Collette but I just didn't have the chance to see the movie trailer for this or at least read the plot on IMDB until I finally tried to check it out. This movie broke my heart into pieces. Nevertheless it still has a beautiful ending.

This movie is based on a true story and people should really see it. It's so inspiring and their love story is just splendid! Honestly, I didn't really like Andrew Garfield as Spiderman but he was breathtakingly exceptional on this one. And Claire Foy, she's a fantastic actress - I just love her in The Girl In the Spider's Web.

First time I saw the trailer of this movie, I just wanted to see it so bad. I've been a big fan of Gemma Arterton since St. Trinian's and this movie has a wonderful twist in the end.

I've seen this movie when I was a kid and I honestly fell in love with Colin Craven, hehe... The remake doesn't even compare to this one. I've recently watched this movie with my cousins and I'm still as mesmerized as I had been.
